Sometimes clients just can’t make it to our office because their job schedules don’t align with our office hours. When this happens we make arrangements with the clients to meet offsite at a time and place that works for them. James had just started as a cook and couldn’t make it to our office for an appointment. He was staying in Minneapolis at The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center, Minneapolis, so we met with him downtown. We provided him work clothing, new black nonslip work shoes, and a bus pass.
In a thank you note he said: “The help I have received from Small Sums was the best thing that has happened to me thus far. I am homeless living at Harbor Light. Their help with the items for my job was a gift from God. Thank you very much.”
