Restoring Hope Complimentary Gala Luncheon
Tuesday, May 23, 2017 12:00-1pm
American Swedish Institute
Join us at our annual celebration of Small Sums’ work. This one-hour complimentary luncheon will inform, inspire, and raise funds for the practical and powerful assistance that Small Sums provides for hundreds of people, here in the Twin Cities, who are experiencing homelessness and have the chance to return to work….with our help!
Our featured guest speaker is Humans of Minneapolis photographer/author Stephanie Glaros. Stephanie’s photo profiles of everyday people of Minneapolis inspire us. Her philosophy is captured best in her description of her work “…I’ve learned some really important things about what we share as humans. We all want to be seen and acknowledged. We all want to be loved and accepted for who we are. And we are all just muddling our way through life, doing the best we can.”
Other speakers include several Small Sums clients whose lives have been changed because we could help.
Come solo (or bring a guest) and we’ll put you at a table of interesting folks, or invite 3-6 others, who we can introduce to Small Sums, and we’ll have a special table for you.
Hope you can take a lunch break on Tuesday, May 23, and join us. The American Swedish Institute is located ten blocks south of downtown Minneapolis at 2600 Park Avenue S with plentiful parking!
Registration and Silent Auction open at 11am.
To help someone, who’s fallen on hard times, with what THEY need to take care of things themselves – to go back to work, to make enough money to have a place of their own, to support themselves – that’s what’s so practical and powerful in what Small Sums does.
For less than an average of $200 per client, Small Sums helps homeless folks who’ve found jobs, with the resources (clothing, tools, shoes, bus pass, etc.) they need to take the job and start working. Our model is proof that a “small sum” of support can make a big impact. We expect to help close to 650 people this year; changing lives for the better…..restoring hope!
Can’t make it to the luncheon on the 1st? Please consider making a donation today to help change a life.
