Eric is currently staying at https://www.cctwincities.org/locations/higher-ground-shelter/ and working as a Chef at a local restaurant. He heard about us from one of our beloved referrers, http://haumc.org/dignity/ . Like so many of us, he needed to start over after a loss. His thank you note eloquently shares some of his story.
“For 12 years I owned one of Minneapolis’ highly publicized soul food restaurants. With its closing came other hardships, i.e., the loss of my home, personal items, in short, “everything.” I am currently staying at Higher Ground shelter while I endeavor to begin my life again. I recently obtained a Chef position and I was in need of several items. Here at Small Sums I was able to secure knives and transportation to work. I am told that your donation/s help make this possible and I would like to thank you for making this start-over possible, for me and others similar to my situation. Again, thank you, thank you.”
