Alvin is currently staying at Catholic Charities Higher Ground Shelter in St. Paul and working at a local bakery. He is connected to one of our beloved referrers, Ujamaa Place, and is enrolled in the construction program at Summit Academy. It was great to hear Alvin discuss the clear goals he has put into motion for the next phase of his life. We gave him a bus pass, work clothes, and non-slip shoes for his bakery position.
In a thank you note, he said, “I could not have started work today without your assistance. You have no idea how much your help gave me confidence. I’m living in a shelter and sometimes it’s hard to remain positive. I just want you to know that I appreciate every little thing and it’s not going to be in vain.”
